I was wondering if a Resto Shaman/MS warrior both with full arena gear is viable for 2v2 Shaman/Warrior.
I would love to get some more feedback on this matchup, if any of you guys could help me out.
I started a warrior / resto shaman combo with my buddy last night and we got up to 1700 pretty quickly, but ran into a few matchups that were pretty consistently beating us after that point. Luckily, I think we will be able to improve with the right strategy, because most of the losses were close, while many of the wins were dominant.
I'm a MS warrior (35/23/3) with 350 resilience. My partner is a resto shaman with 400 resilience
My specific matchup questions:
a) Frost Mage / Rogue
We tried both targets, but it seems like we did better when I just stayed on the rogue and we attempted to LOS the frost mage. I kill water elementals as soon as I see them pop. If I'm rooted I try to spell reflect polymorph or a nuke. Who should we be going for here? They actually went for me a lot, so when do I need to play defensively (shield / spell reflect / intervene to shaman for LOS?), or should I just pressure the entire time and hope my shaman doesn't get blinded / CS'ed and then I get bursted down?
b) Warlock / Rogue
Similar matchup, similar results... depending on the warlock's spec I will sometimes kill the fel hunter... even twice. It seemed like when we lost to this team they CC'd the shaman and nuked me down.
c) Shadow-priest / Rogue
Seeing a pattern here? Rogue teams were giving us a lot of problems This matchup seems a little bit easier for us, and I was going for the shadowpriest, but the shaman ended up getting silenced / blinded / feared when they went to burst me. Basically.. in all three matchups, when the other team decides to burst me, the warrior, it's hard for me to know when I should play defensively and try to get away to the shaman to heal up, and when I should just keep on pressuring.
d) Warrior / Paladin
It seems like I should pressure the paladin and pummel / intercept / shaman earth shock his heals to force him to bubble. Otherwise the warrior is on our shaman and the paladin is too far away for me to pummel consistently, so he just nukes heals. Unfortunately, both of them wearing plate made it difficult for me to really pressure the paladin and he basically just stood around and healed himself and then BoF'd their warrior. One idea I had was to intercept their warrior and disarm him immediately after he intercepts my shaman, which may help my shaman get away. Any advice here?
As for the matchups we liked... we basically wrecked every Warrior / Druid team we saw, and had pretty good success against any warlock / healer team. Hunter teams weren't that bad either since it seems easier to LOS a hunter than some other classes. It's really the rogues / mages with all of the annoying CC that are hurting us.
Thanks in advance for any advice! |
